Should I “apply” the configuration before saving?
Yes, the configuration should be applied (button in right menu) in order for changes to be effective. Once successfully completed and verified, configuration should be saved so that it can be used each time equipment is restarted or configuration restored.
How to update the equipment?

Is there compatibility between an existing VPN and Net Survibox 266 and other devices?
Net Survibox 266 device creates VPNs based on the IPSec standard, therefore it is compatible will all other devices that use such standard.
(Our lab is continuously testing the compatibility of other devices in order to show our clients the compatibility with other VPN devices)
Is there a difference between a manual mode and an automatic mode?
With the VPN manual mode, all the parameters used should be configured to create a VPN, while the automatic mode is based on a shared code (PSK) and automatically calibrated with time.
Can various filters be included in a Web Filter rule?
Each Web Filter rule must contain a word to filter the connections. It is also allowed to include a file with various words that can be used as a model for filtering that automatically will create the necessary rules.
What is the difference between a Web filter measure for equipment and for a URL?
A Web filter rule for equipment is attached to the name of the equipment to which it is connected. The Web filter rule for a URL is attached to the rest of the URL used for the connection.
Is there a pdf or similar to the Net Survibox 266 manual?
There is a pdf format Manual enclosed with the installation CD of the Net Survibox 266 device. You can also find the said manual at the following address:

We have two DSL Survibox 266. We wanted to connect them at a client in order to join two (VPN) branches, but they have dynamic IP. In this case, can we establish one with a VPN?
Nowadays Net Surbivox 266 device only supports VPNs with static addresses. In future updates we will include possibilities for creating VPNs with IP dynamic addresses.
When trying to redirect the ports towards a private IP address of my net, I have access problems.
The ports that I want to redirect belong to the PPTP and I use the rules wizard but despite this, I fail to reach the server. Any suggestion?
For redirecting the ports toward a private net address we can use two methods:
1) With the wizard. At the Firewall main page, click on 'add a port redirection'. You will then be asked for the server and equipment to which you want to redirect the communication. A Firewall rule will be created if necessary testing whether any previous Filter rule will deny this connection.
2) At the Firewall 'NAT rules' page. Directly adding a NAT address, using the 'IGD1' object (that represents NetSurvibox device) as destination for the original traffic, the PPTP service as original service and the destination machine as destination for the reduced traffic. In this case you will have to be careful allowing traffic through the Firewall (through the filtering rules).
IMPORTANT. Be sure that no firewall rules denies connection through this service.
Can you explain to me step by step on how to configure a Server?
To configure Net Survibox266 device and allow the Web server, you must create a port redirection measure (NAT). You can make it through the assistant of the main Firewall page ('adding a port redirection') or alternatively directly through the NAT measures. We recommend using the assistant at the main page, as there is an explanation step by step.
Afterwards you should apply the configuration and if it functions correctly, save it.
Can IronGate systems avoid the 'trojans' that dominate the wide band?
Yes, of course, but you must know the ports that such malicious programs use, or alternatively, maintain a high security policy that doesn't allow for the connection of such Trojans.
Is there an IPsec client (compatible with Windows) that can establish VPN against IronGate's devices?
Nowadays the technical department that carries the VPN is studying the compatibility with other systems.
Our VPN uses the IPSec standard used by other devices. If you are interested in other products, please let us know and we will investigate.
Is there a mail content 'control level'?
Nowadays there is no mail content control level but it will exist in future updates. |
